How to Have Access to JupyterHub.nrw?

  • You need to go to the login portal: JupyterHub.nrw
  • Login with your University Credentials: You will need your university email and password to access JupyterHub. Make sure you’re using the correct institution’s Single Sign-On (SSO) service, which is integrated into JupyterHub.
  • New User Registration: If this is your first time accessing JupyterHub, follow the instructions on your institution’s authentication page to complete the sign-up process.

After logging in and being redirected to the JupyterHub.nrw website, you can choose the resources you need for your work (e.g. CPU and memory).

Note: If the cloud resources are not enough you can either contact your university's IT support or use High Performance Computing (HPC) instead, if it is available to you. Users of the University of Münster can use the PALMA cluster. Please refer to the PALMA - Documentation for more information.

The resource quotas depend on the respective user's status and user groups. Higher resource quotas up to 16 vCPUs and 64GB of RAM and additional GPUs can be requested.

We also offer different configurations (Notebook images) for different purposes, meaning that different software/programms are available in the corresponding JupyterLab. For more information please refere to Supported Environments.

Now you can start the server. It may take some time for your working environment (JupyterLab) to be ready.

After your environment is ready you are directed to a JupyterLab environment with softwares already installed based on the image you have chosen:
